Father's Day

Dear Hub,

Thank you. I couldn't do this parenting gig by myself.

Thank you for giving our son your good eyesight and the ability to long division. Thank you for taking him fishing and out for ice cream. Thank you for helping to shape him into the wonderful little boy that he is, and the man he will eventually become.

Happy Father's Day.

Dear Stepdad,

Thank you for loving me even when I was at my most unlovable (ages 13-19). I treated you badly and said some horrible things to and about you. I didn't know then what I know now. That you will love my mom and I unconditionally all these years and work tirelessly for the family without one complaint. Ever. Thank you for volunteering your spare time (what there is between jobs) to the fire department. You do it because you just like it, but you are a true hero.

Happy Fathers Day.

Dear Grandpa,

You are the man I check all other men against.

I am in awe of how you did it. Raising 10 kids is a an accomplishment I can't even begin to wrap my head around.

The fact that you are very clearly in love with Grandma these 60 years later is better than any love story that Hollywood could ever dream up.

Thank you Grandpa, for making us a family.

Happy Father's Day.

I love you all more than these simple words could ever express.

Dear Real Dad,

Hopefully someday we can talk. I have so many questions.

  1. LoL! These were so sweet-as simple as they may have been, they seemed to mean the world.

  3. Just beautiful, Katie. I hope you do get to meet your real dad, someday. Steve/Terry/Jimmy/Bill should know what they're missing out on.
